The world of Asterix is so colourful that we sometimes forget the history it is based on. It was inspired by historical figures and events, particularly in France, at a time when it was called Gaul. So, although Asterix is a fun creation, the park has its rightful place in northern France. The perfect place for a school trip to have fun and learn lots of things!

The area just to the north of Paris is full of architectural and natural gems including Chantilly Forest and the White Queen’s Castle. This is almost a miracle, given its turbulent history: the area was once divided into several Gaulish tribes, which were over time conquered by the Roman Empire. This historical context sets the scene for Asterix’s adventures, and his battles against the Roman invaders.
So it’s no surprise that the Asterix theme park was built in Plailly, northern France. Providing thrills and plenty of history, this park is the perfect place for a fun-filled, educational outing!
