Meet Dogmatix at Parc Astérix
Created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, Dogmatix is one of the most popular characters in the world of Asterix. Obelix’s little companion first appeared in Asterix and the Banquet, published in 1963. As for his name, it was chosen in a Pilote magazine reader contest. And did you know? Dogmatix has his own adventures in a television series, and also a series of comic books, the first of which was published in 2021.
Looking for Dogmatix at Parc Astérix
You’ll have no trouble recognising Dogmatix if you come across him at Parc Astérix. This adorable little West Highland White Terrier has distinctive black tips on his ears and tail. Other key physical features are his large nose and moustache, like the other Gauls.
As for his personality, Dogmatix can sometimes be a bit sulky and he doesn’t always obey his master, Obelix. But he’s also a clever and crafty pooch, and is always there to assist Asterix and Obelix when they need him. If you look for him in the park, there’s a good chance you'll find him with Obelix! Feel free to go and say hello – he loves having his picture taken.
Where can you find Dogmatix at Parc Astérix?
This mischievous pooch hangs out where he can meet children, because he loves them. To meet him and take a photo, head to the Gaulish Parade where he’ll be sure to pose for the camera and steal the show from all the other characters!
