Meet Getafix at Parc Astérix
Getafix featured in the very first Asterix comic book Asterix the Gaul, published in 1961, and alongside Asterix and Obelix, is one of the main characters created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. Equally loved by parents and their kids, he’ll always be happy to share his secrets with you, so make sure you go and say hello. Whether you’re at an attraction or in the Gaulish Village, he’s easy to spot with his long white beard.
Looking for Getafix at Parc Astérix
Getafix is a very old and powerful druid whose beard never stops growing, and who never goes anywhere without his staff. He is responsible for preparing Asterix’s famous magic potion. He is also a bit of a philosopher and the Gaulish village’s wise man.
He has been included in all of the Asterix and Obelix adventures and the villagers often seek his valuable advice. Although no one knows his age (he was already quite old when Asterix and Obelix were born), Getafix’s great-grandfather, Mathusalix, is also a druid, and is nearly 200 years old.
Where can you find Getafix at Parc Astérix?
Getafix loves meeting visitors at Parc Astérix. You might bump into him at an attraction or along one of the park’s walkways. He enjoys walking to take time to reflect.
And how can you resist the Gaulish Parade where you can also see Getafix? He’ll be there, alongside Asterix and Obelix, and a host of other key characters like Dogmatix and the beautiful Panacea. This twenty-minute parade is one of the park’s major attractions.
