Obélix’s story
Obélix is the village menhir-cutter, a great dreamer, a gourmet and a passionate lover. He’s particularly well known to the soldiers in the surrounding camps for his endless smackdowns and his collection of Roman legionaries’ helmets.
With his superhuman strength and big heart, Obélix could stand up to any comic-book superhero. Obélix fell into the magic potion cauldron of the druid Panoramix when he was a child. And what happened? With Obélix, the effects of the potion never fade. His strength, combined with Astérix’s sharp mind, was the Gauls’ greatest weapon against the Roman invaders. And so, with his little dog Idéfix in one hand and a menhir weighing several tonnes in the other, he accompanies Astérix on his adventures through the ancient world.

Slip into Obélix’s shoes and become a menhir delivery man for a trip on the water with the Parc Astérix Menhir Express! Climb aboard a floating menhir navigating rapids and face a vertiginous drop to deliver your menhir safely to port. Watch out, splashes are guaranteed!
Be amazed by Obélix’s incredible strength. Do you doubt his talent? See for yourself on the Discobélix! A giant discus launched by our menhir delivery man, which will send you soaring and spinning... Take to the skies!
Feeling peckish? As we all know, Astérix and Obélix have a big appetite and love wild boar. Come and treat yourself at the Relais Gaulois family restaurant, which lays on a huge buffet! It’s like being in the Village Gaulois, at the end of the adventures of our Gaulish heroes... And what’s more, if you come between 12 noon and 2 p.m., you’ll have the chance to meet Astérix and Obélix!
